We are self taught individuals, bringing pottery as a recreational activity to our customers.

At Wobbly Plates, we understand the importance of support in an artist’s life. Our community serves as an educational branch and support system for all who visit our Pottery Studio by being a special place where their creative juices can flow freely. It’s our mission to ensure that the arts remain strong, and to offer classes to students big and small - introducing newcomers to art and creativity.

Artists need a space to dream, to create, to inspire and to be inspired. At Wobbly Plates, we understand this well, which is why we provide this space for our guests. All artistic expression is allowed in this magical Pottery Studio where people come and create their art freely. Time stands still when you are creating. All ages are welcome. Please remember to book in advance!

Introduction to pottery
Start at the beginning.
Come and learn the basics of being a potter. Learn everything there is to know about getting started with pottery. After this , you will be able to make a sturdy vessel that you will be able to use. One five hour class, book in advance
Handmade pottery
"made by hand, not machine, and typically therefore of superior quality"
When you use your hands to create, it comes from the heart. It is a piece of you ,you can set your imagination free . Nothing will hold you back. You may choose between two options. one five hour class ( make and glaze in one sitting) or make, let us bisque your piece, and come back for glazing at a later date.
Party venue for small groups
Be different!
Think out of the box for your next birthday party, baby shower or just a get together with friends. Get your hands dirty with a fun and interactive session. Class sizes are kept small in order to ensure each participant gets enough attention from the instructor. You are welcome to decorate the studio as you wish, crockery and coffee station is available to rent. Time frame no longer than five hours.
Clay Café
Glaze to your heart's desire
Come and pick one of our ready bisqued items, pick your glaze and enjoy a few hours away from the crowds. Sit and enjoy the tranquility and silence while you create your art without destractions.
How Things Work
Cost calculations and payments
To make is a two visit deal.You only pay for what you use. First, pick your clay and make your item. Pay for the clay and R150 for 2x kiln work, Leave your project for me to bake. Come back anf glaze your piece. Then just pay for the glaze. Payment options: Cash or make use of our card facilities on the premises.
